Just one drink so can't speak to that.. But the stages of alcohol at the point that you "go to sleep" that is the downer side of the drug, the next stage as that one wears off is an "excitement" stage which wakes you back up, you really don't get any real rest in between and in my case the only way to get back to "sleep" again was to drink more... so a never ending cycle and slow or fast spiral down...
