I've noticed that there are people who drink because they can't deal with some past trauma. And there are folks like me. I never considered myself an alcoholic, just a drinker. I'd get drunk most nights and would fall asleep in front of the tv. I did it because I enjoyed the buzz. In my youth, I enjoyed downers. I like the relaxed felling. My family did an intervention and that's really why I quit. I do miss it once in a while, and who knows. I might drink again someday. But I've been sober for seven years and will probably continue to lay off the booze.
