A request for help from DU's Recovery Community... [View all]

Kind DU friends in the recovery community-- could you spare a few moments of your time to rate and review some short animated videos (we're calling them "Rehab Soundbytes" ) about treatment- and counseling-related topics?

Their purpose:
Sometime in January (cross fingers) my esposo and I are finally going to go live with our Recovery Systems Institute website. The purpose of the website is to provide information and resources for three audiences that will (we hope) help them make treatment work better. The audiences are addicts/alcoholics and their families; counselors and treatment professionals; and people who design and operate rehab programs.

These little animated videos will be included on resource pages that relate to various topics (like "abstinence" or "incentives" ) in order to add a little impact and provide some comic relief. Anyone who's ever experienced rehab --as a client, a counselor, or a family member-- should be able to relate.

One of the videos, "Drinker's Dilemma," is here:

There are four more on our YouTube channel, here:

They're called "Vintage Resentment," "Determined Mom," "Cookie Power," and "Everything But Abstinence."

If you could VERY kindly watch one or two of them, and then reply to this post with your comments, responses, opinions, etc., it would be of enormous help to me!

We are really hoping that our site, which is not linked to any treatment program, institution, corporation, nonprofit, etc., will become a valuable resource. Making it readable and interesting is a key part of that. Having these little vignettes sprinkled among the more informational resources is a way of (we hope) achieving that. But really need a little feedback to help us identify if we're on the right track.

Your time is MUCH appreciated!

hopefully,
Bright
