Chronic UTIs in elderly women [View all]

I keep getting UTIs and I don't know why. I am 85 years old and in excellent health but these infections are driving me crazy. This last bout was treated with Nitrofurantoin Machrochrista. My primary care doc has been handling them but I may get turned over to a Urologist for further treatment.

Is there a sub-category of Urology that handles this problem specifically? Or does it have to be a GYN, which I haven't had since I was much younger? I can't be the only elderly woman who has this problem!
