It's 3am, the rain from tropical storm Beryl is here and my weather related anxiety is up and roaring [View all]

Mid Michigan could get over 3" of rain so I'm awake and obsessively checking on the sump pump. It's a good sump pump and not that old but that doesn't stop my fear it will fail and the basement will flood.

Almost all of the dire weather forecasts have been wrong, this year, so fingers crossed we don't get quite that amount of rain and it ends earlier than predicted. Otherwise I'll spend the duration of the storm running up and down the basement stairs and setting timers, in case I do fall asleep.

On the bright side, I won't be going anywhere so maybe I'll just stay in my pajamas, all day. Unless, of course, I head out to buy a spare sump pump.
