husband had his follow-up with the neuro yesterday [View all]

mri and blood work came back clean and the doc told him the best course of action would be to head to a psych as all the symptoms pointed toward it being a mental health issue. husband still said no, but agreed to go back to therapy and i'm hoping the therapist will convince him it's in his best interest to get a dx and look into meds.

his depressive episode seems to have broken, but i think he's a bit pissed that it wasn't neurological. he's so opposed to it being "mental" rather than organic damage but he'll just have to get over it. i also made an appointment with a gp for him and i want them to check his hormone levels. there's enough going on that i think his testosterone levels are low and i think addressing that will also be of help.

on an odd side note, he's starting to push me a bit to dial back on my meds, saying he thinks i'm over-medicated. i've had that thought a few times, but i'm in a spot where i feel good and functional, at least on the whole. i had an episode earlier this week, but i think the stress of the last six weeks or so finally just got to me and i had a full on meltdown. it's been years since that had happened and i beat myself up about it for a few days, but i'm feeling better now, though and things are moving in the right direction.

he's working again, so my stress about money is also decreasing. it's been hard trying to make ends meet and it's a huge weight off my shoulders to not have to worry about it.

thanks again, everyone, for all your support.
