Get books that can’t easily be torn. We read constantly to my twin almost-two year old granddaughters and they spend hours “reading” the books on their own.
Their favorites are some reproductions of colorful classic 1940s and 50s Disney books - Mickey, Goofy etc. When they do accidentally tear a page they will say “Dada fix it” since he has retaped some of the books numerous times.
