My grands like mega blocks, coloring books w fat crayons, paintbox to paint on printer paper, play doh, Little People toys, and big boxes to crawl in and make forts!! Or even pillows and blankets to make a fort and sit in to read books! They also like to bake w me-something easy like stir up a brownie mix or ice and sprinkle sugar cookies. The water mats are good too. I think Melissa and Doug make spiral tablets that are paint with water. Got some for the kiddos to use on a road trip. Found them at JoAnn fabrics. I hope you have a blast playing with your grand!!!
