4. I don't think you're being unreasonable..

I'd check with the school first as that seems a strange policy to have, how can you decide on the first day that you will always be outside? Especially without a reason and as it seems they have great indoor facilities.
As an adult choosing to do sports I would never say i would always be outside, I can't think what that can be teaching the students. Especially as these aren't little kids, surely the aim is to encourage them to enjoy sports, not to dread it?
