Yesterday

and disappear completely, causing you to panic and put up lost cat posters all over your neighborhood, until they suddenly appear at your feet with a look like, Yeah, what?? And sometimes they just stay where they are and stare through the portal, considering what's going on in that other universe. The strange cat who looked like Boots probably was Boots, looking at your cats through the portal as they stared back..
