I told him . . . [View all]

Visit from an owner of an 8 year old female dog.

Massively overweight.

He loves the girl and feeds her cooked chicken!

Yeah, nah!

Tried to scare him, predicted he has 2 years to get her weight down before her hips give out and he has to build a wheelchair for her fat ass for her to be mobile, and he'd better organize some large size diapers for her!

Our 14 year old fat ass girl is now on a diet and exercise routine.
1 hour walk daily, 2 small meals of slop - cheap stuff, mostly gravy, veg, spaghetti mix - some low sugar breakfast cereal and water mixed in, 60 seconds in the microwave to get it near dog body temperature otherwise she gobbles it up and spews it up again.

12 months down that track now.
She now moves more freely and seems happier. Grown a waist too!
Ready for her 2:30 pm walk every day, reminds me if I'm slow, ready and eager no matter what the weather.

So begs the question - feeding a dog cooked chicken? Who else is killing their dog with misplaced kindness?
