Help. My 8 year old Captain Hughey has turned fearful and angry. When [View all]

the older one and I got back from the veterinarian's, Captain Hughey started hissing at Twilight, smelling her where they put the alcohol swap when they took her blood and urine. Now, 6 hours later, he is hissing at me too when I go into the bedroom. I just gave him his dinner in there. I hope he calms down and trusts us. We have not changed. He may be upset because he has never been alone in his life. Twilight has been there since Hughey was a kitten. Maybe he is having an anxiety attack because the smell of medicinal alcohol reminds him of when he was fixed as a 9 week old kitten? (I bought him from a store but they source pets from the Humaine Society where they are fixed before they go to the store and that is included in the price). Off to go see if he liked dinner.
