6. My son's new dog is seeing a behavioral specialist

My son and family in Seattle are adopting a rescue dog from a local shelter. He has some separation/isolation issues. The first time they left him alone in their bathroom, he chewed up all their towels and bath rug. The second time he tore off the towel racks. The third time he destroyed the door frame. The shelter provides in-home visits from a behavioral specialist, so my son and family are considered foster parents at this time until they can get the dog under control. Being foster parents allows the shelter to pay for the psych care. They are getting him use to a crate, but it appears my son and daughter-in-law are taking turns working at home, so that he is not alone. Thank goodness they have jobs that allow them to be flexible.
