3. Just a word of advice on the carpet...

Carpet was my industry of choice for about 30 years. Mostly in carpet cleaning but I also sold and installed.

Please wear a mask when tearing up the stuff, especially if it has been down for over 10 years. The amount of dust is unbelievable and it is a very fine dust. It also may include disintegrated pad dust. Not good to breathe.

When we used to remove old carpet we first cut it into 3 foot widths when it was still attached to the tack strip, then roll up those sections and tie up. The size make it easier to remove from the home instead of struggling with bigger pieces. It also make a cleaner removal since most everything is rolled inside.

Have fun…we’re doing the same thing in the spring.

Edited to add.. tack strip is like a thorn bush.. watch out.
