(26,894 posts)13. Your post choked me up. Your experience so closely mirrored my experience with my pal's last day.
She too was 18 and was with me since she was a kitten. Although she passed about year and a half ago, I still miss her.
It is so difficult to let a beloved pet go, but in the end, it's the pet you have to think about.
Peace be with you when you make that final visit to the vet and peace to her, she knows she was loved.

So sad to hear; her condition sounds bad. We lost both of my Mom's cats a couple of years ago -- both about that age.
