--the ultimate tragedy should your dog or cat come in contact with a rabid animal--at that point they will be euthanized as it is too late to vaccinate. The human risks are such that they cannot risk a pet becoming infected-- given the sometimes very inexact and prolonged incubation periods.

So, want to prevent your dog/cat from being boarded--even for emergency purposes? Don't vaccinate. Want to prevent them from being legally able to go to a dog park (receive a license), don't vaccinate. Want to risk the ultimate heartbreak should a (potentially rabid) bat enter your home and engage with your unvaccinated pet--which CAN legally require YOUR pet to be euthanized? Don't vaccinate.

Want to really piss off your veterinarian or physician about this shit? Make a joke about it as though you were seriously contemplating and planning to argue the point. They will really LOVE that.
