charged with unlicensed/illegal possession of a handgun for relieving the criminals of their weapon.

Yes, I'm absolutely serious because that is the depths of the anti-gun mania. They don't care how legitimate a cause a person may have to defend themselves they are complete zealots that the people be disarmed.

And if they would grudgingly admit that the victim was entitled to possess a gun in this instance -- seeing as it was brought into his home by criminals -- under what argument do they complain that the same homeowner should not be allowed to go to a licensed gun dealer after passing a background check?

Forgive me for being so gauche as to point this out but -- anti-gun zealots seem to suffer from a substantial internal inconsistency.
