8. IIRC, Ohio has a history of trying to reveal gun-owners' names, criminal or not...

Several years ago, a newspaper sought to reveal the names of lawful gun-owners for purposes of Salem-like moral condemnation and Shaming™.

This appears to be more of the same, since it has the redolent whiff of sexually-based social policy. And many controllers are really into Penis©, Ammosexual©, and Gunhumping®.

A wild idea for controllers: Try and convict offenders of gun crimes, sentence them, and maintain your records accordingly. Drop your Scarlet Letter shame lists... Or expect some creative retribution along similar lines to come your way.
