a firearm has been around for quite some time.

All it takes is a drill, drill bits, hacksaw, file, an angle and bench grinders, hammer, square, a taper cutter, countersink, vise and some tubing, sheet metal and hardware (and not even all of those). All of this is available from your local hardware store.

The plans are readily available to bend, fold and beat all of this into a fully functional firearm over a matter of a couple of hours. Unless of course you want to shift over to the book banning darkside.

Personally, I think that the definition of a "firearm" should be revisited but that opens the door to ham handedness that will create more confusion than settle the issue.
