They gave me a package which was as good in some ways, better in others than my cable company who I switched to about 4 years ago when I got tired of Direct TV. I have found both were better than Direct TV and so far at&t is better than Charter.

But, I realize with you living in Alabama you may be in one of the areas where Direct TV is your only option. I looked into going with Netflix and Hula as a substation to cable but I wanted local programs and MSNBC. I am lucky in that by being in the outer limits "Greater Birmingham Area" I get the advantage of being in the city without the city problems, I have many friends who aren't so lucky.
