1. I am looking at the pile of bookmarks, some of them 50 years old, next to my chair.

I stopped worrying about them when I stopped pretending I was pursuing some organized course of study, but since I retired, I've cut a wide swath and, now I have a pile here, next to the math books that I never read any more.

So anyway, I have some spare bookmarks?
