4. I would think that having a gay homicidal villain is a bit cliche -

And even if an author doesn't consider the other reasons for avoiding such a choice of villain, just attempting to avoid writing a cliche should be enough.

If the character was an entirely different, very well fleshed out character who happened to be gay, then that would be something totally different.
