The math still doesn't quite work, but I may be missing something.
I'm always excited to talk high jumping & Foz was one of my high school heroes.
In my freshman year, I cleared 5'2" at 5 feet tall.
In sophomore year, I switched to the flop and at barely over 5'2" tall, I cleared 5'9.5" twice.
Yeah, I could jump even higher after a year but a 7.5 inch improvement isn't explained by leaping ability.
By the end of my junior year at 5'7", I cleared 6 feet 6¾ inches 3 times. I went being "just a guy" to one of the best high jumpers in the state.
I'm evidence that Dick came up with a superior technique.
