In those days ordinary people could afford to ride and sometimes even have a horse. Now it is very much a rich person sport. This is both freaky and good. I'm still trying to digest it and make sense of it for myself. I spent almost 20 years teaching (mostly girls) and training hunters and jumpers. Good on 'em. These girls are awesome as far as I'm concerned.
