I saw that 104 MPH and started riffing on Steve Dalkowski, guesstimated to have been the fastest pitcher ever (pre radar days). Witnesses spitball his speed at, like, 105-110 MPH

Dalkowski was also famous for his unpredictable performance and inability to control his pitches, and was the model for Nuke Laloosh in the film, Bull Durham.

Steve Dalkowski once threw a one hitter, but lost 9-8 due to 17 walks; there were some genuine control issues.
