Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit going on and on about McDaniel being a "players' coach" and so "authentic," which can only be true if you believe players want to be concussed multiple times a week and have a coach who's willing to lie about it. It even took Amazon until 10:00 left in the 4th to dust off the ancient video from, oh, Sunday, to show what happened in the Buffalo game. They then cut out the part where Tua stumbles and has to be helped off the field--and Michaels makes it worse by dutifully and uncritically repeating the NFL line that it was merely a back injury.
The post-game was just as bad because Tony Gonzalez has such Stockholm Syndrome that he wanted to paint the league and team working in the best interests of Tua....and then they broadcast a snippet of McDaniel's press conference and behaved as if he should be beatified because he said he was upset by what happened to Tua. (He also said he was glad it was "only" a brain injury, which I guess says everything you need to know about how coaches, or at least some coaches, still think about CTE.)
