Players with domestic abuse accusations continue to trouble Cleveland Browns [View all]
The latest? 2025 2nd round draft pick, RB Quinshon Judkins, accused of repeatedly punching his girlfriend last month.
What's more, Judkins has waived his right to a speedy trial, and since he has not yet signed a contract, will miss the entire preseason.
According to the link below, the NFL is expected to review the case, and it could suspend him for part of the season based on its investigation. Judkins is free after posting $2,500 bond.
From Cleveland.com:
Judkins signed the court document, which waived bringing the case to trial in Broward County, Florida, within 175 days. In most criminal cases, the move is routine, as it allows attorneys and prosecutors to exchange evidence and further investigate the allegations. For Judkins, it could affect when he returns to the playing field, as it could push back the proceedings.
Judkins, 21, faces misdemeanor charges of battery involving the attack. His attorney, David Weinstein, told a judge last month that police and prosecutors have overstated the facts of the case. He also said that the woman stayed with Judkins for five days before speaking with officers.
The woman waited five days before contacting police, telling a Fort Lauderdale officer that she felt bad due to the recent success and career of (Judkins). She decided to speak with an officer after coming to the realization that something needed to be done, according to a police report.
The report said the incident took place after Judkins received text messages about the woman. She told police that he became enraged and punched her in the mouth, as well the arm and leg.
