2. If you have certain Medicare supplement plans

I believe they will cover up to $50,000 (after a deductible) in the event of an emergency for travel outside the US which begins in the first 60 days of your trip. Our plan (G) through Transamerica does cover this way. I understand that plans F, N, C, D, and N do as well. I'm not certain about others. You may have to pay for prescription drugs, but they are probably cheaper abroad than here with insurance anyway.
