3. Grubbier than ever?! Not even close

Paris is far cleaner now than fifty years ago. Men routinely urinating against the walls along many streets. The smell of urine was strong even in the more tourist areas. And back then, almost no one picked up after their dog. The graffiti problem has gotten worse, as it has most everywhere.

As for comparisons elsewhere, my recent trips have found similar problems in Rome, in smaller towns in Puglia, etc.
