Unless you attend a church that gives sermons in Spanish, you’d probably best not say anything that supports or defends immigration unless you want to find yourself on the outside looking in. Not only are they a de facto cheering section for Trump, they are the de facto membership wing of the wingnuttiest of the alt-right. You’d be hard pressed to find a more narrow-minded group of batshit crazy bigots outside of a baptist church around here.

Anyone who is desperately seeking a “counterpoint” to the growing epidemic of religious fueled deplorables, is working overtime to get everyone to just forget about the elephant in the room.
