Reminiscing about my Catholic school days. [View all]

Even though I was a believer throughout grade school, I still resented the mandatory church attendance.

Mon - Fri: Get up and make breakfast, but don't eat it. You have to fast before receiving Holy Communion. Breakfast was eaten at your school desk. Cold toast isn't that bad.

Sat: Go to confession. Yeah, stand in line. It was drummed into our heads that we were all sinners. It didn't matter that you didn't steal that candy bar. Just thinking about it broke one of the Big Ten.

Sun: Dress your best. You're going to be dining on Jesus with all the adults.

Mon: It all starts 'round again.
