One of the worst tricks the RW propaganda machine pulled off was convincing millions that the Establishment Clause didn't mean what it means.
Seems, we (Americans) let things slide when we should have been adamantly rejecting even the tiniest injection of religion into government. No Ten Commandments on government property, no "under god" in the Pledge, no prayers in Congress, No money to religious schools, etc.
I've given some donations to the Freedom From Religion Foundation over the years, but should have been more involved in spreading their existence & mission.
