I love his esoteric title - The Magus of Power
1. His intelligence - Transparent Intelligence (which is way way too complicated to get into here, just take my word for it
; the path, The Crown of Understanding. Esoteric Function: Life & Death (but doesn't cause either to happen)
Concentration and Self-Conscious Awareness is the function of this card, deriving from Binah 3 and Kether 1 - The Magician is Path 12, which lies between those two serepha; Mercury, a correspondence of this card (whose number is 8, symbolized by the leminscape over The Magician's head) . The Magician/Mercury/Hermes is representative of the Mental aspects.
2. He doesn't destroy - maybe transform - but he is not there yet to be able to destroy and rebuild yet (if you follow the Tarot Tableau, he is the 1st card in the 1st line - Physical Process - stages of what every healthy adult goes through and attains, culminating in Key 7 The Chariot, which is Concentrated Will, and The Chariot doesn't destroy either.
3. Whereas The Fool (0=1) stood looking out and away on a cliff top, The Magician (1=2) is enclosed in a garden (the Subconscious), which is meaning of the Hebrew Letter attributed to this card, Beth or House. The Fool has his tools in his wallet, The Magician has his out in front of him to use. The Garden and Flowers hint at the letter Beth in its shape.
4. The Lilies mean Human Knowledge/Willpower; the Roses, Human Desire/Passion (this is true throughout the rest of the Tarot). Together they mean Male Power of Creation
5. Only card in the Tarot to show all the symbols of the Minor Arcana
6. This card can be summed up as Making Your NEW Idea a Reality

Hopefully I didn't muddy the waters
