That mentioned prehistoric salt flats in Michigan ...

They mentioned that North American animals established trails to travel to those salt flats ...

Then, Native Americans used those same trails to hunt those animals ...

European settlers then used them, for the same reason, and eventually established villages and towns along those routes ...

Those same trails are now multi-lane highways ...
