Car crash at the border... [View all]

Helloooo!

Thanks for the warm welcome and interest in my astrological musings. I've been writing about the astonishing synchronicity of planetary patterns and the headlines for years. Astrology is a language that expresses the logic of timing, as in "why is this thing happening NOW?"

Take yesterday's spectacular car crash at US-Canadian border. It was an apt reflection of current planetary patterns, and thus no surprise to any mundane astrologer.

For example...

Sun entered Sagittarius on Wednesday. Sagittarius is a fire sign, and thus an improviser. Sagittarius needs to be of influence, and pushes boundaries (and borders!) with righteous optimism and opinions. BUT...
Sun squared Saturn early Thursday morning In the language of astrology, Saturn refers to necessary controls. Add that energy to the Sun in Sagittarius, and the stage is set this week for a discussion of BORDER CONTROL.

On Wednesday, Mars was at the verrrrry end of Scorpio. Mars refers to action, assertion, aggression -- and cars! Actions reflecting Mars in Scorpio are likely to be highly effective, reaching new heights -- or depths. When a planet is at the end of a sign, it suggests extremes.

At the time of the car crash, the Moon was at the verrrry end of Pisces, and in contact with another celestial body (the fixed star Scheat), which is associated with shipwrecks (!). Any planet at the last degree of Pisces (which is the last degree of the zodiac), may be reflected in mundane events that feel like the end of the world, and these events are likely to command our attention! And FWIW, Ted Cruz has two planets in his horoscope that are activated anytime a planet is at the verrrry end of Pisces. I've come to expect him to make news at these times!

At 12:19 PM ET (around the time of the crash). the Moon left Pisces and entered Aries. Here is what I wrote on Monday about how Wednesday afternoon into Thursday was likely to flow:

...note how the energy shifts once the Moon charges into Aries at 12:19 PM ET. Yes, the Moon is trine the Sagittarius Sun at 12:34 PM ET, but then the Moon travels without interference from then until 5:57 PM ET on…THURSDAY. Translation: an Aries Moon suggests a need to lead — not now, but RIGHT NOW. Aries may be headstrong and self-absorbed, like that driver who cuts in front of you on the freeway. The need to be first can run away with the day, so…if you’re in transit, travel defensively. If there was a bit of heavy news involving leaders and losses, or an announced plan for greater discipline (perhaps militantly so), this would reflect the square between the Sun and Saturn at 4:46 AM ET. In astrology, Saturn refers to limits, controls, mortality, strategy, taxes, skin, teeth, bones, and debt.

Hopefully, you are beginning to see how -- when these patterns are taken together -- it would make sense (i.e., be astro-LOGICal) that a story about a spectacular car crash at an international border would 1) temporarily close the border (border CONTROL); and 2) pundits and other opinionated types would run wild throughout the day (spreading fears of a terror attack that in fact, did not happen). Ted Cruz was one of the opinionated types who grabbed attention on the site formerly known as Twitter by posting allegations about the incident that were later proven false.

So...why did these impatient, opinionated pundits get it so wrong? Is there a current planetary pattern suggesting a higher than average probability of this lack of clarity? YES!!

Mercury (how we need to think and communicate) is in Sagittarius. Translation: Sagittarius is more interested in painting in broad strokes than exacting details, and this is often reflected in thought and communication. When Mercury is in Sagittarius, we are advised to be aware of a higher potential for sloppy thinking in the headlines. The potential for error is even higher this week because Mercury is square Neptune (exact on Monday morning). Upside potential: plenty of thinking that may be inspiring, healing, and/or pacifist. Downside potential: plenty of thinking may be foggy, escapist, or simply inaccurate. In the language of astrology, Neptune refers to fog, ideals, and things that are not as they seem.

Because I am aware of current planetary patterns, I did not buy into the "terrorist attack" narrative. I saw the higher than average potential for error and did not rush to conclusions. This is one way an understanding of astrology can be useful in your own personal world.

So...thanks to DU members who may find these observations of interest. Comments and questions welcome.
