I lost mine in January of this year. It was one of those deaths that comes suddenly, but not totally unexpectedly. I think she was ready to move on, too. She was hobbled by physical disabilities and pain, and lost in dementia a good deal of the time. I think she was often just bored of what her life had become. Until this last year or so, I wouldn't have understood what that last sentence meant. Now I can say I do. And, as I just wrote that... my little tuxedo tabby slipped up to my desk and softly rubbed her cheek against mine then gave me a kitty-kiss. Sometimes miracles come in very small packages...
