The author states: "the standard answer ... is that the new heliocentric astronomy killed off astrology as an academic discipline. This is completely false as any superficial examination of the historical facts immediately shows." The author tries to back up this statement with an argument I find unconvincing. I suspect "the standard answer" is partly correct if incomplete for any particular country.
