7. That 29.5 days wrt the Sun makes it closer to 12 "months" than 13 in a solar year

365.25 / 29.53 = 12.37 (as much, or a bit more, accuracy as they had 2000 years ago). So the choice of 12 or 13 was not simple, nor necessarily religious or 'lucky'.
