and the effects on 10 to 20 years olds during the Great Depression likely wasn't without consequences either. Sub par nutrition has an effect on the growing brain. Maybe hopelessness and its psychology hurt a bit too, reverbing back on the biological end of things. Said because my parents fit that time slot. And as I age I can see they weren't the most resilient beings mentally, and I would argue lacked some capacity and adaptability. Maybe it wasn't all psychological.
