1. I wonder how hard it would be to drill down 100 miles

I'm certain it is difficult. But if we could... and we could drop pipes down that far... we would have free clean energy (no greenhouse gases) available 24x7.

I'm sure it is difficult... but after the billions spent on chasing fusion...
