Yes, and benefits for advertisers are probably not benefits for most people.

Recently there were ads on TV for some product that could help bipolar people. The ads featured a woman, in a manic state, online and buying all sorts of expensive camera equipment that she couldn't afford. We all have our moments of weakness when we are susceptible to pitches from advertisers. My expectation is that AI will develop in that direction, pitching ads at us when we are most vulnerable. That potential aspect of AI definitely worries me.
