He is exactly what Barker describes. Why do most Xians avoid this reality, choosing to soften the image of their god by excusing away 90% of his behavior by embracing Enlightenment principles that are nowhere to be found in the Buy-bull?

Of course, the Buy-bull is 100% fiction, and people who are honest with themselves know this. But if you're going to embrace make believe, why muddy the waters with principles and characteristics that are not found in your holy book? If you're willing to ignore 90% of it, why not just take the next logical step and ignore the whole damn thing?
