Like her, I was also a little reticent about my atheism. Could not remember a time when I did believe in that supernatural nothing that I was told to believe in. Sunday school, church, confirmation class (I passed) for Lutheranism, visits to other churches, synagogues, temples, tent revivals, prayer meetings, etc. ad nauseum did nothing but convince me that there is nothing out there. I also knew of the ridicule that would come if ever I did state my atheism.
She writes in her book a question: "Do you believe in a supernatural being in control of the Universe?" If the answer is no (mine was), then you are an atheist.
