It was a resounding NO, as she has a bunch of family that moved out and hears how bad it can be. Her father specifically refused to teach her or her sister to speak tagalog and the family here refuses to speak it as well.

Her aunt lives there half the year, and told me 6 months was almost more than she wanted to live there at a time.

Which is really strange from everything I have read. I would love to go visit.
