I don't believe it is an accurate representation of his views on the LGBT community. I'm not saying the statement was correct and understand it came across as ignorant and offensive.
Still here is a recent statement by Snoop:
Snoop Lion: There will be an openly gay rap star ‘in the near future’
Snoop Lion, rap-turned-reggae artist, who has been vocal in supporting gay rights, but who has in the past noted the difficulty faced by a gay rap artist wanting to come out, has said that he thinks “in the near future” it will be much easier.
The 41-year-old star who recently asserted that in the rap music industry, being gay may never be “acceptable” in the way it is for singers, has now changed his tune, saying that people are much more accepting
The reggae artist, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, made the comments in an interview with the Guardian, in which he referred back to an interview in August, when he said the world of Hip Hop was ready to accept a gay artist, following Frank Ocean’s recent announcement that he had been in love with a man.
He recently said he had “gay homies”, and has now gone even further to say that “crossing” of cultures, both musical and political, is now the reason that gay rap and hip-hop stars will soon find it easier to come out.....
