Gun Control Reform Activism
In reply to the discussion: Here's what I think should happen in the realm of gun control. [View all]Hoyt
(54,770 posts)3. Not a bad list. I'd prefer tougher toting restrictions in cities and limits on gun acquisition.
Other ways to handle this would be significant taxes on gun accumulators, certain types of gunz, toting, etc. The tax money would be used to promote alternatives to guns, non-NRA training, Anti-gun culture ads, promotional efforts to teach young girls that gun fanciers are not desirable (Ok, maybe a bit much), etc.

I think it's time to stop worrying about a backlash from inconsiderate gun abusers. Seriously.

The vast majority of gun abusers are right/white wingers. I doubt there are many true Democrats

We won't if we keep proposing laws that won't stop gun proliferation and gun love.

Do you really think a Democrat that has a gun or 2 for hunting or home defense would feel alienated

Sorry that you are that enamored with gunz. I guess it's tough breaking free for some folks.
