Girl throws 1st pitch, finds out catcher is dad, home from Afghanistan [View all]

Sometimes you just have to stand up and cheer, no matter which team you're rooting for.
On Thursday, those that showed up for Tampa Bay's 4-3 loss to Boston at Tropicana Field were in for a rare treat.

Alayna Adams, 9, was picked to throw out the first pitch.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, her father, a lieutenant colonel stationed in Afghanistan, appeared on the stadium video screen. He said hello and told his daughter he would see her soon.

She delivered her pitch to the catcher, who took off his mask. It was her father, Lt. Col. Will Adams.
