Sept 11, Naudet Brothers' 9/11 documentary live documentary film [View all]

The Naudet brothers are french documentary film makers and they were shooting a scene showing NYC firefighters reporting to a gas leak just as the 1st plane flew overhead. It was too loud, too fast and too low. The NYC firefighters knew it was a direct hit and intentional and not an accident since the plane was aiming for the North Tower. When the 1st plane hit he was right there and was able to capture the moment on film. It didn't stop there. One brother was trapped at Tower 1 and continued to shoot the scenes. His brother shot scenes on the ground as it happened. They filmed the collapse, from inside the towers and outside the towers. Neither knew if the other brother was killed or not. Captain Pfiefer protected one of the filmmakers by covering him with his own body as the tower crumbled and the chief's own brother, also a NYC fireman, was killed in the collapse. He saved the Naudet brother and lost his own brother.
