4. The only risk would be in eating either too much or too potent of an edible

But that risk would be there regardless of how much you smoked or didn't smoke. So, in other words, no.

You can't overdose on marijuana from smoking. And if you do overdose on edibles, the only thing that would happen in addition to you getting extremely high is that you would end up throwing the rest of it up before anything really bad happened to you. That's all that happens when you eat too much weed. You might get a little sick in the stomach and not feel so great, but in the end, you'll just end up puking and you'll feel instantly better. With edibles, I advise you to start slow and be patient. Don't overdo it. Many people take edibles and wait for awhile, and when nothing happens they take more, and then when nothing happens after that they take more, and before long they are so freaking high they can't move. Edibles can take awhile to hit you. Be patient.

You're not going to die or anything if you eat too much but you may get way more high than you want. That's why I prefer smoking as opposed to eating it. You can control how high you get that way. That being said, the highest I've ever been in my life has been from these sour ring candies that our local medical marijuana club used to sell before it became totally legal and they had to reduce the potency in their edibles. Whoa. Those things were a trip. I was high for a full two days off of those one time.

But anyways, don't worry. You'll be fine no matter what. Just go easy on the edibles until you know how you react to them. But even if you do eat too many, just relax and know you're going to be okay no matter what. And if you do start to feel sick, inducing vomiting can instantly make you feel better.
