Fortunately some people will be able to work from home, but that's hardly possible for all professions. In addition to the loss of income, a great many people are facing the prospect of arranging alternate childcare given school closures. The company I work for is offering low-interest loans to employees who need the money to arrange childcare, but it's unlikely many employers will do the same.

Covid-19 is going to do a fantastic job of highlighting all the gaps in the social safety nets of many different places. That said, some of the panic seems a little overblown to me. It's not like we're dealing with Captain Tripps here, after all.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
